About the course

This presentation focuses on applying Low Stress Handling® techniques to feline patients, with particular attention to recognizing and minimizing pain. Cats often exhibit subtle signs of fear and discomfort that can significantly affect their behavior and response to handling during veterinary visits. Participants will learn to interpret feline body language, understand how pain influences handling tolerance, and implement strategies to reduce both environmental and procedural stressors. The session will cover the use of towels, supportive handling positions, and pre-visit medications, along with methods for adapting handling approaches to account for pain. Emphasis will be placed on improving the comfort and safety of feline patients, their caregivers and the veterinary team.
